Mabley Green NCN link complete

Mabley Green NCN1 link, 30th November 2004

The new National Cycle Network route 1 Mabley Green link is now complete.

The path links the Red Path and Homerton Road, forming a key segment of the route between Victoria Park and Hackney Marshes. It will be promoted as a walking and cycling route to school for Daubeney, Kingsmead and Hackney Wick primary schools and Cardinal Pole secondary school, with signs at the schools and at each end of the route to encourage its use.

This zoomable Sustrans map shows how the new link fits into the wider area. (Mabley Green is the smaller rectangular open space between Hackney Wick and Clapton Park.

A launch event for the link was held on 10th December 2004 at the corner of Mabley Green where the new ramp joins the Red Path, during which local school children planted trees.
