Documents we have produced or helped to produce:How to make Shoreditch better for walking and cycling -- a document produced jointly with the pedestrian lobby group Hackney Living Streets as a response to Hackney Council's 2012 consultation on the Shoreditch Space and Place Shaping Plan. Applying the permeability principle - response to Transport for London Street Management's consultation on the Shoreditch Triangle proposals
The permeability project - a proposal to increase route choice and reduce diversion, from back in 1998. Still needs to be done!
HomeBikePark project report -- the results of our residential cycle parking pilot project
Cycle lanes on Old Street? No thank you! - how we successfully argued against a TfL proposal to paint cycle lanes on Old Street in Shoreditch. A good example of why in almost all cases we lobby against cycle lanes.
Planning the London Cycle Network in Hackney Route 8: Our comments on LCN+ route 8 draft report | Final CRISP report on LCN+ route 8 Route 9: Our comments on LCN+ route 9 draft report | Final CRISP report on LCN+ route 9 Route 10: Our comments on LCN+ route 10 draft report | Final CRISP report on LCN+ route 10 Route 16: Our comments on LCN+ route 16 draft report | Final CRISP report on LCN+ route 16
Quicker and safer on the road - our evidence to a committee investigating the problem of footway cycling back in 1999. The issues haven't changed!
Hackney Agenda 21 Transport Report
Dalston South public enquiry January 1998 - Hackney LCC's evidence
Hackney Local Transport Survey - how do most people get to the shops?
Shoreditch One-Way Traffic Scheme Review - our view on the earliest proposals for scrapping the massive one-way system in Shoreditch, which eventually came to fruition in 2002
Hoxton and Haggerston Controlled Parking Zone - our comments on one of the earliest controlled parking zones in the borough, setting out our view on the problem of the domination of street space by stored motor vehicles. One practical outcome was the return of two-way cycling on Fanshaw Street N1.
Other documentsRoad Danger Reduction Charter - how local authorities can commit themselves to genuinely reducing road danger. Produced by the Road Danger Reduction Forum and heavily influenced by Dr Robert Davis' important pamphlet 'Is it Safe?'.
